Before You Enter Spiritual Warfare

Ricky  /  June 23, 2026

THE DANGEROUS MISTAKE MANY BELIEVERS ARE MAKING IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Before you start commanding mountains to move, make sure you have learned how to stand when the wind begins to blow.

Before you start confronting strong foundations, ancestral battles, territorial spirits, and deep spiritual warfare, make sure your own spiritual foundation is strong enough to carry the weight of the battle.

One of the greatest mistakes many believers make today is rushing into advanced spiritual warfare without first developing spiritual maturity.

Many people want to cast out demons, break generational curses, and challenge powerful spiritual forces, yet they struggle to maintain a consistent prayer life, struggle to study the Bible, struggle with unforgiveness, struggle with temptation, and struggle with basic spiritual discipline.

This is dangerous.

A building can never rise higher than the strength of its foundation.

Jesus said in Matthew 7:24-25,

“Whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.”

Notice something powerful.

The wise man did not survive because the storm was weak.

He survived because the foundation was strong.

Many believers are praying dangerous prayers while neglecting the very things that create spiritual strength.

They want authority without intimacy.

They want power without character.

They want warfare without preparation.

They want victory without growth.

But God’s kingdom does not operate that way.

Even our Lord Jesus Christ spent years preparing before stepping fully into public ministry. Before confronting Satan openly, He was filled with the Word of God, led by the Spirit, and firmly established in His relationship with the Father.

The deepest secret many believers do not understand is this.

Spiritual warfare is not won by loudness.

It is not won by aggression.

It is not won by emotional excitement.

It is won through spiritual maturity, obedience, faith, holiness, discernment, and a genuine relationship with God.

A spiritually immature believer entering battles beyond their level is like a child stepping into a boxing ring against a trained fighter.

This is why many become discouraged.

This is why many become confused.

This is why many become spiritually exhausted.

This is why many abandon prayer altogether.

Instead of rushing into deep foundational warfare, focus first on building yourself.

Build your prayer life.

Build your knowledge of Scripture.

Build your faith.

Build your obedience.

Build your discernment.

Build your character.

Build your relationship with Jesus Christ.

The stronger your foundation becomes, the stronger you become in every battle.

Ephesians 6:10 says,

“Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”

Notice that Paul did not say, “Be aggressive.”

He said, “Be strong.”

Strength comes through growth.

Strength comes through consistency.

Strength comes through spiritual discipline.

Strength comes through daily fellowship with God.

The truth is that many battles that appear frightening today will become easier tomorrow when your spiritual life becomes stronger.

Do not be in a hurry.

Growth is not weakness.

Preparation is not delay.

Building your foundation is not a waste of time.

It is one of the wisest investments you can make in your spiritual journey.

Let us learn and reason together.

Are you focusing more on building your spiritual foundation, or are you rushing into battles before God has fully prepared you?

May the Lord help us to become strong, mature, discerning believers who stand firm in every season and every battle.

Someone may be preparing for a battle that their spiritual foundation is not yet ready to carry.
