In a world full of compromise, we can’t afford to be casual with our convictions. The enemy would love for us to break our boundaries so he could affect our convictions.
This isn’t the season to be soft with sin or blurry with boundaries. Here are some important truths to remember when it comes to our convictions, where compromise is a very real threat.
#1: Don’t Trade Your Convictions For Comfort !
The easy road is to resist change and choose comfort. It’s always a challenge when we’re in a position to stay true to our convictions or remain comfortable where we are when God is calling us to change.
#2: Where Boundaries Are Absent, Convictions Start To Fade!
Sin becomes more attractive. We become more easily subject to temptations.
#3: What’s Permissible For Others Might Not Be Purposeful For You!
Stop comparing yourself with others. What they might be doing may not serve a greater purpose in your life. God has something different for you, and you need to keep the main thing the main thing.
#4: Don’t Measure Your Convictions By Someone Else’s Compromise!
Just because someone else compromises their convictions doesn’t mean you should. You need to stay true to what you know God is speaking to you about your personal walk with Him.
#5: Never Be Led By What’s Convenient, Be Led By Your Convictions!
This goes back to what we said earlier. It’s easier to stay in your comfort zone. It’s easier to choose what’s convenient. But when God tells you things you should or shouldn’t do, you need to stay true to those things. It’s called convictions.
#6: Our Convictions Shouldn’t Grow Weaker, They Should Grow Deeper!
As you draw and stay closer to God, your convictions should grow deeper. Those other things should grow weaker and dimmer in your life.
This is the time to walk in conviction, even if it means walking alone. Remember, your journey with the Lord may mean people who used to be close to you no longer want to walk this journey with you. They may not have the joy you have and therefore choose to walk out of life. But you must remain true to your convictions and stay true to your walk with Him. Trust Him to bring the right people into your life.
These relationships are worth more than anything. In the end, they’ll help keep you on the right path.
“Everything is permissible for me, but not all things are beneficial,” ( 1Cor. 6:12 )
