It’s possible. It’s absolutely possible…to know church, without truly knowing
Christ!
You can know the language, the songs, the routines- and still keep God at
arm’s length.
But real faith isn’t about familiarity.
It’s about transformation.
It’s about surrender.
It’s about becoming.
Not just showing up.
Not just fitting in. Not just believing the right things- but letting God reshape
your heart, your choices, your reactions, and your priorities.
Let’s remind ourselves:
You can grow up in church. Know the songs. Know the verses. And still keep
God at a safe distance.
#1~~~TRUE CHRISTIAN GROWTH SHOWS UP IN FRUIT, NOT FAMILIARITY!
In obedience, not opinions. In Christlikeness, not Christian culture.
The goal was NEVER full buildings- it was transformed lives!
#2~~~CHRIST DOESN’T WANT FANS!
He wants followers. He wants disciples.
That’s why Scripture says, ” Examine yourselves, whether you be in the faith.”
( 2Cor. 13:5)
#3~~~YOU CAN BE SURROUNDED BY TRUTH AND STILL NEVER
SURRENDER TO IT!
Judas walked with Jesus- heard every sermon- and still never gave Him his heart.
Proximity IS NOT intimacy!
#4~~~CHRISTIANIATY IS NOT ABOUT BEING IN A PLACE (church), BUT BEING
IN A PERSON (Christ)!
Growth comes from remaining in Him. ( Jo. 15:5 )
Not weekends only. Not when it’s convenient.
But daily, consistently, intentionally.
#5~~~TO GROW IN CHRIST IS TO LET HIM CHANGE HOW YOU LIVE!
How you love. How you respond when no one is watching.
Rooted in the Word. Led by the Spirit. Becoming more like Jesus. ( Col.2:6,7 )
This isn’t anti-church. It’s a call to go deeper.
*Let’s remind ourselves that faith that is alive, will always produce change. It
softens what was once hard. It heals what was once broken.
It redirects what was once self-focused.
So, let’s choose depth over comfort.
Choose obedience over convenience.
Choose intimacy over comfort.
Let’s not be ‘that Christian.’ Let’s be His follower. His disciples.
