God Is Calling You To Build An Altar

Ricky  /  July 27, 2025

We’ve become experts at creating a vibe. Lighting. Loops. Transitions. Setlists. Branding. Atmosphere.

And none of that is bad. But if we’re not careful, we’ll spend our energy building moments for people and forget to build a place for God.

Throughout Scripture, God responds to altars, not aesthetics. What are some key things we need to know when it comes to building altars in our personal lives?

#1: One draws attention to the stage. The other draws the fire of heaven.

Our focus should be completely about Him, not some personality on a platform. It’s time for the ’ superstar ’ preachers to end!

#2: A vibe entertains. An altar costs you something.

Too many Christians prefer entertainment over the Gospel, which has the power to change lives. But beware, an altar will cost you something.

#3: A vibe says, “Did people like the service?” An altar asks, ” Did God receive my life? “

That should be the main question we ask. Our services should be centered on His glory. His honor. His pleasure. He must be the main, central focus of our lives.

#4: An altar is where something dies, so God’s presence can live.

There are times we need to put our selfish desires, our wants, our prejudices, our misguided concepts of God on the altar so they can die to His desires, His wants, and His will.

#5: You can build a vibe with lights, tracks, and trendy sets. But you can only build an altar with surrender, sacrifice, and obedience.

Remember, it will cost you something. In the end, it will be well worth it.

#6: If there’s no fire, maybe there’s no sacrifice.

Rest assured, if things aren’t happening like you thought, the holdup is not on God’s end. God is waiting for us to put that sacrifice on the altar.

*Praise Leaders:

Stop chasing the energy in the room. Start building a place where heaven can rest.

*God doesn’t dwell in your aesthetics. He dwells in your obedience.

*You weren’t called to

Build a brand,

Craft a mood,

Or stir emotion.

You were called to build an altar.

Altar is where something dies. Pride. Control. Performance. Preference. And in return, Fire. Glory. Presence. Not because we earned it, but because we gave Him something to receive.

If the fire ISN’T FALLING, it might not be a production issue; it might be a SURRENDER ISSUE.

LET THE FIRE FALL!!!
