SERVANT FIRST BEFORE LEADER
True ministry is not measured by titles, positions, recognition, or authority. It is measured by humility, sacrifice, and a heart that is willing to serve others before seeking to be served. The greatest leaders in the Kingdom of God are not those who sit on the highest seats, but those who willingly kneel to lift others up.
Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, demonstrated this truth when He washed the feet of His disciples. Though He was their Master, He chose the position of a servant. He showed that leadership in God’s Kingdom begins with humility, compassion, and selfless love. Before God entrusts a person with influence, He often tests their willingness to serve faithfully in places where no applause is given and no recognition is received.
A servant-hearted believer does not seek personal glory. They serve because they love God. They help because they care for people. They remain faithful even when nobody notices. They understand that true greatness is not found in being above others but in being available for others.
Many desire the platform, but few desire the towel. Many want authority, but few want responsibility. Many want to lead crowds, but few are willing to serve individuals. Yet God’s pattern has never changed: service comes before leadership, humility comes before honor, and faithfulness comes before promotion.
If God has called you into ministry, do not focus on becoming a leader. Focus on becoming a servant. Serve with a pure heart. Serve with integrity. Serve with love. Serve when it is easy and when it is difficult. For in God’s perfect time, He exalts those who humble themselves before Him.
Remember, a servant’s heart is the foundation of spiritual leadership. The strongest leaders are first the most faithful servants. In ministry, the path upward begins by kneeling down.
“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.” — Mark 10:43
