I. THE POWER OF PRAYER COMES FROM WHO WE PRAY TO

Matthew 21:22 — “Whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

• It is not about how good our words are, but who we approach: the Almighty God.

• He is able to do far more than we ask or imagine.

• Application: Come with confidence, not because you deserve it, but because He is good and He loves you.

II. PRAYER BRINGS US CLOSER TO GOD

Philippians 4:6–7 — “In everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God… will guard your hearts and minds.”

• Prayer turns worry into worship, fear into faith.

• It does not always remove the problem, but it gives you peace that surpasses understanding while you go through it.

III. RIGHTEOUS PRAYER HAS GREAT POWER

James 5:16 — “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much.”

• “Effective, fervent” = earnest, consistent, heartfelt prayer—not empty repeating of words.

• Prayer moves mountains, softens hearts, opens doors, and strengthens the weak.

IV. PRAYER MUST BE IN JESUS’ NAME

John 14:13–14 — “Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do.”

• Praying “in Jesus’ name” is not just a phrase we say at the end—it means according to His will, for His glory, and trusting His work alone.

• It means: “Lord, not my will, but Yours be done.”
