WHEN THE POWER IS GONE, DO YOU STILL KNOW IT?

Judges 16:20–22 carries one of the most frightening spiritual warnings in Scripture: “He did not know that the LORD had left him.”

Samson woke up expecting yesterday’s strength to answer today’s battle. He had become so familiar with the anointing that he assumed it would always be there—until one day, the power was gone, but the confidence remained.

That is a dangerous place to be.

You can still have the title, the platform, the followers, the microphone, the clothes, the influence, the church attendance, the social-media presence, and the appearance of strength—while secretly losing the very presence that made you powerful.

Modern life can teach us how to look successful while becoming spiritually empty.

The greatest tragedy is not losing money.
It is not losing a position.
It is not losing followers.
It is not even losing opportunities.

The greatest tragedy is losing God’s presence and not realizing it.

Samson had muscles, but no discernment.
He had history, but no present strength.
He had a calling, but had compromised his consecration.

Yet verse 22 gives us hope:

“But the hair on his head began to grow again…”

What was lost was not necessarily the end of the story.

There was still a possibility of restoration.

Maybe you have wandered.
Maybe prayer has become mechanical.
Maybe holiness has become negotiable.
Maybe you have become comfortable with what once convicted you.
Maybe you are performing publicly while dying privately.

Wake up.

Do not wait until your spiritual eyes are gouged out before you realize you have been playing with what was sacred.

Go back to the altar.
Go back to prayer.
Go back to obedience.
Go back to the Word.
Go back to genuine repentance.
Go back to God.

Because the most dangerous person is not the one who has fallen, but the one who has fallen and still believes everything is normal.

And here is the hope:

What the enemy thought was finished, God can cause to grow again.

Your strength can return.
Your fire can return.
Your prayer life can return.
Your discernment can return.
Your consecration can return.

But do not merely ask God to restore your power.

Ask Him to restore your relationship with Him.

Because the goal is not to become Samson again.

The goal is to become fully surrendered to God.
