YOUR MINISTRY IS NOT ABOUT YOU
📖 1 Corinthians 4:1–7 KJV

One of the greatest dangers in ministry is forgetting Who the ministry belongs to.

Paul reminded the Corinthians:
“Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.”
— 1 Corinthians 4:1 KJV

Notice the words: ministers and stewards.

A minister is a servant.
A steward is someone entrusted with what belongs to another.

That means ministry is not our possession.

The church is not ours.
The people are not ours.
The pulpit is not ours.
The gifts are not ours.
The opportunities are not ours.
They belong to God.

We are simply servants entrusted with them.

That changes the way we approach ministry.

We don’t serve to build our name—we serve to glorify His name.
We don’t preach so people will admire us—we preach so people will see Christ.
We don’t compete with other servants—we cooperate in the work God has entrusted to us.
We don’t measure our worth by applause, attendance, recognition, or popularity.

Paul says:
“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”
— 1 Corinthians 4:2 KJV

God’s primary requirement is not fame.

It is not success.
It is not numbers.
It is faithfulness.

And Paul gives another powerful reminder:
“For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive?”
— 1 Corinthians 4:7 KJV

Everything we have received is ultimately from God.

So there is no room for pride.

If God gave you the gift—give Him the glory.
If God opened the door—thank Him.
If God entrusted you with people—serve them faithfully.
If God gave you a platform—use it for His glory.

🙏 Ministry is not about building a name.

It is about being a faithful steward of the Name that is above every name.
One day, the applause of people will fade. The numbers will be forgotten. The titles will disappear.

But faithfulness to Christ will never be wasted.
Serve Him. Love people. Guard the truth. Stay humble. Be faithful.
Because your ministry is not about you—it is about Christ.
