5 Things That Can Hinder Your Prayer Life !

Ricky / May 16, 2025

Not everyone can go with you into the delivery room. Some people loved the old you too much to witness who you are now in Christ and who you are becoming as you renew your mind.

#1: Habitual Sin

When sin becomes routine, your sensitivity to the Spirit weakens. The more you normalize compromise, the harder it is to hear clearly from God. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal blind spots. Repent and lean on grace to walk in righteousness

#2: Unrepentant Sin

God hears your prayers, but sin without repentance builds a wall. You can’t war effectively when you’re avoiding conviction. Don’t just feel guilty, repent and relign. Confession invites cleansing and restoration.

#3: Rebellion Is Compared To Witchcraft

Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft ( 1Sam.15

Things Christians Should Stop Doing!

Ricky / May 15, 2025

#1: Stop Treating Other Bible-Believing Churches As Rivals !

It’s not Biblical. Other local Bible-Believing churches are not competition or rivals. They are family and teammates.

” For there is ONE body and ONE spirit, just as you have been called to ONE glorious hope for the future. ” (Eph.4:4)

#2: Stop Using The Bible To Justify Our Personl Opinions !

It’s not Biblical. Using the Bible to justify personal opinions or traditions is not Biblical because it twist Scriptures to fit our own agenda, rather than letting Scripture shape us.

Jesus said; ” They worship Me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.” (Mat.15:9)

#3: Stop Treating Christianity Like A Checklist !

Again, not Biblical. Believing that going to church, reading you

When It Doesn’t Make Sense!

Ricky / May 14, 2025

God’s instructions don’t always seem to make sense. At least not to our limited brains. It doesn’t always align with logic. But, they always align with purpose. What feels like confusion in the natural, is often designed in the spirit. We know according to Romans 12:2,NLT, “…God’s will is good, pleasing, and perfect. ” So, when things don’t seem to make sense, here’s some points that I believe will help you navigate on your journey as you follow God’s instructions.

Made  To  Last  Forever!

Ricky / May 12, 2025

” God…….has planted eternity in the human heart.” (Eccl. 3:11- NLT)

“Surely God would not have created such a being as man to exist for only a day! No, no, man was made for immortality.” -Abraham Lincoln

This life is not all there is. Life on earth is just the dress rehearsal before the real production. YOU WILL spend far more time on the other side of death— in eternity— than you will here. Earth is the staging area, the preschool, the tryout for your life in eternity. It is the practice workout before the actual game; the warm-up lap before the race begins. THIS LIFE IS PREPARATION FOR THE NEXT!

At most, you might spend a hundred years on earth, but YOU WILL spend forever in eternity. Your time on earth is, as the book of James describes, “…For what is you

Critical Factors for Spiritual Life!

May 9, 2025

“The most important thing in life is to decide what is most important!”

How true that is. Every moment of every day we give our time and energy to something. The question is, do we give our time to WHAT IS REALLY IMPORTANT? Think about it. Will the places you put your attention and efforts today take you closer to, or farther away, from your dreams? Will the decisions you make create more confusion and pain, or less? Will the way you implement God’s Word bring you more confidence in God, or less?

Instead of looking for some deep, mystical, hidden answer to bring joy and peace to our lives, we should simply look to the Word of God. When we came to Jesus, our Christian walk was supposed to be a journey of becoming disciples. A disciple builds his or her life on the lessons

Let Yourself Dream Again!

Ricky / May 5, 2025

When we want something more than we want anything else, we will find it whatever the cost. God said it this way: ” And you will seek me and find me, WHEN YOU SEARCH for me with ALL YOUR HEART” ( Jer. 29:13). When our desire is strong, we are highly motivated. We overcome obstacles. We refuse to become sidetracked by the many distractions, no matter how legitamate. We are determined. We will not be denied! We succeed in finding the things we desire when we seek them passionately. All else becomes trivial pursuit.

Most of us, however, are conditioned to choosing a lifestyle in which we have the greatest amount of pleasure and the least amount of pain. Its called SETTLING. There are things we wish we had, but our conditioning keeps us from seeking them. There are things we know we n

Dealing With Anxiety

Ricky / May 2, 2025

The definition of anxiety is the overwhelming feeling that I’m not in control. Now, here’s reality. We’re NOT in control of 99% of what happens in life. We’re not. Think about it. We are living on a big ball of dirt called Earth, spinning in a universe, going millions of miles per hour. And none of us control that. By the way, none of us got up and worried about that this morning. “Oh Lord, what if the Earth stopped spinning.”

We would evaporate. So you wouldn’t have to even worry about it. But that’s anxiety, the overwhelming feeling that I’m not in control. And if we let this feeling continue to overwhelm us by not dealing with it in the right way, we’ll deal with it by abusing alcohol, or abusing drugs, or abusing food. Anxiety, if not dealt with, it leads to depression. And d

Overcoming Shame

Ricky / April 29, 2025

Too many times we think shame is a form of humility, a sign of repentance. In reality, a person can experience deep remorse without yielding to a life of shame. Only when we see people with their heads hung low are we willing to believe they have truly repented of their wrong. Nothing could be farther from the truth. If people had actually repented, they would hold their head high and reclaim their identity in Jesus.

We want people who have failed to live in shame as proof that they are aware of their sin. And that is exactly what shame is. Shame is a negative emotion that controls our life by keeping us in constant awareness of our sin. Living in awareness of sin is what the law does for us. This is not, however, the work of the Holy Spirit in the New Testament. He is here to ma

Controlling  My  Emotions

Ricky / April 28, 2025

You never know when it is going to happen. You feel calm.

Out of nowhere comes a CRAZY driver. Your whole spiritual life goes out the window: heart racing, mouth yelling, hands out the window.

No control. And, get this. It was on the way home from CHURCH!

So, how do we significantly change how we control our emotions?

#1. Work On Your Walls.

“Walls” in Scripture refer to barriers to your enemies. Nehemiah worked on building a huge wall so that Jerusalem was defended.

“A man without self-control is like a city that is broken into and left without walls” (Prov. 25:28)

Your “walls” are barriers in your soul (mind), spiritual walls. Prayer is a powerful “gap filler”to a hole in my spiritual wall. Start working on your “prayer wall.”

Resurrection Power!

Ricky / April 18, 2025

When jesus was crucified, He became our sin. He became our sin so we would not have to live in sin. He took all the curse of the law. He took the punishment we would have deserved. He was chastened by God so we would not fear God’s punishing us. When Jesus cried, “Father, why have you forsaken Me,” He was experiencing what we would have experienced had we died in our sin. He was separated from God so we would never be separated from God. Our sins put Him in the grave.

We know that after Jesus was crucified, He obtained righteousness by faith. Paul said that he didn’t want to be found in a righteousness of his own. He wanted the righteousness that came by the faith of Jesus. You see, Jesus had to overcome our sins by His faith. He trusted God to raise Him up in righteousness. It i

Accepting Responsibility

Ricky / April 17, 2025

“Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let thy hand, I pray thee, be AGAINST Me, and my father’s house.” (2 Sam. 24:17)

David made some really serious mistakes. It’s  interesting that he didn’t try to place the blame on others like Saul did by saying, “It’s their fault. They made me do it!” No, he took responsibility and shouldered the blame himself. This is one of the character traits that made David a man after God’s own heart. (1 Sam. 13:14)

When the Bible talks about having a pure heart — a perfect heart — it doesn’t mean that you never sin. It’s talking about HOW YOU RESPOND WHEN YOU DO SIN. When you make a mistake, do you blame other people? Are you someone who refuses to accept the truth that it’s your fault that you’r

The Good News Of Christ !

Ricky / April 15, 2025

When Jesus appeared on the scene, He preached the Gospel of the kingdon of God. The word gospel simply means “good news, nearly too-good-to-be-true-good news.” It is not complicated. Everything Jesus preached was good news. When the crowds were healed, it was because they had HEARD GOOD NEWS. When there were miracles, it was because the people had HEARD GOOD NEWS. When people turned from their sins, it was because they had HEARD GOOD NEWS.

The religious leaders of the day preached to the people, but they never brought them good news about God; they always brought BAD NEWS. They didn’t set people free; they loaded them down with more rules and regulations. They made the people afraid of God. They caused the people to view God as mean, hard, and judgmental. Because they never preac

Does God Really Love Me?

April 14, 2025

My biggest task is believing God loves me REGARDLESS OF MY PERFORMANCE!

You see, you and I can NEVER perform perfectly enough to “deserve” God’s love. He loves you. That’s the bottom line. When fail, (and you will) He still loves you. He’s a God who forgives and restores.

So, here’s some things to remind yourself when you are doubting God’s love for you:

1) He Loved You Before You Loved Him!

“We love because He first loved us.”( 1Jn. 4:19)  That simple little phrase reminds me that God has ALWAYS loved me. He didn’t wait for me to love Him. He has loved me for all of eternity.

That”s why I don’t “earn” His love. He gave it freely to me long before i ever loved Him back. Become convinced that God has ALWAYS loved you.

Right Thinking=Right Living

April 9, 2025

Right thinking comes from the Word of God. When we feed on and receive God’s Word into our hearts and minds, letting His words govern our thought lives, our words, and our daily actions, our lives will be transformed. It’s important to remember that change happens from the inside out, not the outside in. The more we think right, thinking in line with the Word of God, the sweeter life will be.

Wrong thinking opens the door to the devil and closes the door to God. That’s why Satan works continually to try to interject wrong thinking into our thought lives. Wrong thinking makes life hard, but right thinking opens the door to God and closes the door to the devil. Feeding and acting on God’s Word runs out wrong thinking.

God can only work through right thinking. His hindered fr

The Prison Of Bitterness

Ricky / April 8, 2025

One of the greatest tactics the enemy uses against people 0f great potential and promise is to imprison them in a dungeon of bitterness and unforgiveness. Those who are dominated and controlled by bitterness never truly achieve their dreams or fulfill God’s call on their lives because they are caught in a nightmare of the past.

When you hold on to bitterness, it is very costly. Bitterness is a horrible taskmaster. It requires you to spend your time, energy, and mental power maintaining grudges and nursing past wounds rather than pressing forward into your future. Bitterness is the ultimate killer of dreams.

When you are dominated and controlled by bitterness, you will blame others for where you are in your lack of productivity and the frustration of your dream. People who

Believing You Can…Because God Says You Can!

Ricky / April 7, 2025

There’s an old proverb about what those who say they can and those who say they can’t have in common: they’re BOTH RIGHT!

I don’t want this to come off sounding New Age teaching or a worldly motivational talk that is 100% focused on “you,” but there is a direct relationship between how successfully and effectively you run your race to the destiny God has put before you and how you perceive your ability to run that race.

To take that even a step further, how YOU see yourself is exactly the same way OTHERS will see you. What is in your mind and in your heart will find a way to show itself outwardly-and people will perceive you by what you display. So, it’s true that:

—If you want others to believe you can, then YOU HAVE to believe you can!

—If you want others

Attitude

Ricky / April 3, 2025

Have you ever thought how important attitude is when it comes to having good, healthy relationships? Put simply, relationships just work better when you are happy. A good attitude goes a long way toward building lasting relationships. Think about it. Nobody wants to be around a person harboring a bad attitude, do they? The fact is that the friendlier you are, the more you are going to have people who want to pursue long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with you.

It is so easy to understand why so many people go unrewarded in life. They just don’t do the necessary things to be rewarded. Although life is designed to be a continual process of growth, most people stop growing. You MUST BE WILLING to cheerfully solve problems for those God has placed in your life. Only when

“That You Might Know…”

Ricky / March 28, 2025

Once a person has confessed Jesus Lord of their lives, they must grow in their knowledge of God and His Word because He has given us great promises and blessings that He desires for us to experience. Salvation is the greatest gift to mankind, but it is also JUST THE BEGINNING OF A LIFE OF VICTORY!

In the book of Peter, he reminds us that we, as believers, should be like newborn babies WHO CRAVE spiritual milk so that we will grow up and mature in our salvation (1Peter 2:2).

The Bible says, “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that WE MIGHT KNOW the things that have been FREELY GIVEN to us by God” (1Corinthians 2:12). Paul states four important truths in this passage of Scripture:

  1. We have not received the spirit of

Letting Go Of The Past

Ricky / March 21, 2025

Paul, in his writing in Philipians said; “…this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind…” (Phil.3:13)

We cannot grab on to our future if we don’t let go of our past!

WAIT!!!

Let me say this right here. I DIDN’T say the past is something that we can completely erase from our minds. And, I DIDN’T say the past doesn’t matter. But, rather than living there ( like a prison), we can learn from it and move forward.

Not looking back but looking forward. Paul went on to say in that same verse; “…and reaching FORTH to those things which are BEFORE,”)  Notice he said ” I’m reaching forth, not behind, but forth. That’s ahead. He’s leaving a place and He’s reaching for a new place.

Then, he continues on and says “…the things that are BEFOR

Being Misunderstood

Ricky / March 19, 2025

If you wait on people to understand you, or you won’t take your next step because you fear it may cause people to not like you, then you will more than likely find yourself “stuck” in your walk with Jesus. How do I know? Well, because — I’ve lived it!

There have been times in my life that I really wanted to be loved and understood by people MORE than I wanted to be obedient to the Lord. And lets face it, that’s NOT A GOOD CHOICE! One of the biggest things that stands out in this area is the decision to step out in ministry like launching a website, making uplifting heartfelt post, etc. ( I know, you’d thinl that’s  something people would be excited about).

I fought it. Because I knew people were going to make assumptions and accusations that were not true (and some that

Mega-Joy !

March 18, 2025

The angel said to the shepherd,”Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of GREAT JOY that will be for all the people…”(Luke2:10)

“Great joy”in Greek means “mega-joy!”

Let me tell you, I have discovered a powerful secret to miracles. It is “mega-rejoicing” before God.

The angels experience this joy in heaven. When we enter into it, we are positioning ourselves for a miracle’

What is “mega-joy?” It is “mega-rejoicing!”

So, let me share with you some ways that “rejoicing” will bring down the miracle-working power of God in your life:

#1. I Rejoice Before I Even Feel Like It.

Paul was in prison in Rome when he wrote these words: “Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say, Rejoice!” (Phil.4:4)

Grief And Regret

Ricky Head / March 13, 2025

I recently was talking with a dear friend who has been dealing with the loss of a loved one and the reality of how she was dealing with grief. It had me thinking about how each of us from time to time deal with grief and also regret. You might ask, “why regret?” Because I believe grief and regret at times work together.

Let’s give a simple definition of grief and regret. Grief comes from a loss you experienced. Regret comes from a mistake you had control of. In both cases, the opportunity for change is gone. The truth is if you can change it, change it. If you can’t change it, move past it. There are people you and I know that hit the “pause” button on life because of grief and regret. They are frozen to move forward. Some blame themselves. Some blame others. They even b

When Something Is Bigger Than You Pt.2

March 12, 2025

#3. Don’t Listen To The Fearful.

You become what you hear. “Faith comes by hearing”(Rom.10:17), and we could also say “Fear comes by hearing!”

Its not good for you to give attention to and listen to someone who is very fearful. It will grow inside of you.

“Is there any man who is fearful and fainthearted? Let him go back to his house, lest he make the heart of his fellows melt like his own” (Deut. 20:8)

If you surround yourself with the fearful, your heart will faint like theirs.

Declare this outloud: “I will not listen to the fearful!”

#4. Try To Make Peace.

Jesus said “Blessed are the peacemakers” (Mt. 5:9)

He told us to “Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are going with him to court, lest your accuser hand you ove

When Something Is Bigger Than You

Ricky Head / March 11, 2025

I was never a basketball player, but when I did attempt to join the guys in a pickup game, the other team always looked larger than our team. I wondered why is that. Not long ago, I read about a 7 ft.,  9 in. teenage basketball player in Florida. He has grown two inches in the last two months.

I started thinking about how our minds quickly perceive when we are outnumbered and outmatched. It is a survival instinct.

Remember David and Goliath? Goliath was seven feet taller than David, yet David ran at him with a rock and a sling!

Here are a few things to remember when you come up against a battle where you are “outnumbered”:

  1. GOD IS WITH YOU.

In Deuteronomy 20, God told Israel that when they were outnumbered in a battle, they should not fear
