Discernment   Part 2

Ricky / February 24, 2026

So, here’s Part 2 of ” Discernment: 7 Types of People Who Are Quietly Draining Your Spirit.

~~~#5:THE WORSHIPER!
If someone is becoming more dependent on you THAN ON GOD, that is a dangerous sign.
STOP IMMEDIATELY!
They come to you for every prayer, every piece of advice, and every answer, but they refuse
to turn to God for themselves.
The Bible warns;
” Thus said the Lord, “Cursed be the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and
whose heart departs from the Lord.” ( Jeremiah 17:5)
Your responsibility is to lead people to God, not to become their crutch. If your help is
causing them to worship you INSTEAD of God, you have become a stumbling block on
their faith journey.
~~~#6:THE WILLFULLY

Discernment  Part 1

Ricky / February 23, 2026

Biblical discernment is the God-given ability to distinguish truth from error. The ability to

distinguish good from evil, as well as the ability to make wise decisions. It involves applying

Scripture to life to understand situations from God’s perspective rather than human reasoning.

True discernment is rooted in the Word of God, which acts as the standard for measuring and

testing behaviours and doctrines.

Let’s look at ” Discernment: 7 Types of People Who Are Draining Your Spirit! “

~~~#1: THE UNREPENTANT!
They have heard the truth, experienced grace, and had opportunities to grow, yet they still
choose to live in sin. Your help, at this point, isn’t love; it’s enabling. Proverbs 26:11 says, ” As
a dog returns to his
Don’t Be That Christian
Ricky / February 21, 2026
It’s possible. It’s absolutely possible…to know church, without truly knowing
Christ!
You can know the language, the songs, the routines- and still keep God at
arm’s length.
But real faith isn’t about familiarity.
It’s about transformation.
It’s about surrender.
It’s about becoming.
Not just showing up.
Not just fitting in. Not just believing the right things- but letting God reshape
your heart, your choices, your reactions, and your priorities.
Let’s remind ourselves:
You can grow up in church. Know the songs. Know the verses. And still keep
God at a safe distance.
#1~~~TRUE CHRISTIAN GROWTH SHOWS UP IN FRUIT, NOT FAMILIARITY!
In obedience, not opinions. In
A low angle shot of a basketball hoop against a starry night sky.
Misplaced  Desire
Ricky / February 17, 2026
Winning is not always the goal. Obedience is. There is nothing wrong with ambition.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to build, scale, grow, and succeed.
But the moment winning becomes your goal (idol), you will start compromising
alignment to maintain applause.
You’ll pray less and strive more. You’ll seek platforms over presence. You’ll chase
outcomes instead of intimacy.
And that is the danger of misplaced desire!
So what do we need to know when it comes to misplaced desire? How can I
know if my desires are misplaced?
#1~~~WHEN YOU WANT TO WIN MORE THAN YOU WANT TO OBEY!
It’s dangerous when your desire to be seen, applauded, or elevated outweighs your
desire to be sanctified. Winning in the flesh
Spiritual  Growth
Ricky / February 13, 2026
Real growth isn’t loud. It isn’t always easy. And it definitely isn’t comfortable.
Sometimes growth looks like choosing obedience over comfort, humility over
pride, patience over reaction. It looks like surrender instead of control, faith
instead of fear, and forgiveness instead of resentment.
It’s in the quiet choices.
The unseen discipline.
The daily surrender.
So, what does Spiritual Growth look like?
#1~~~FACING WHAT YOU’VE BEEN AVOIDING!
Not praying it away, but letting God deal with it when you fully surrender it to Him.
Realize that what you don’t confront will continue!
#2~~~CHOOSING SILENCE!
Not because you’re weak. But because wisdom tells you when to wait. You don’t
always have to
When God Removes
Ricky / February 10, 2026
When God removes people, habits, and distractions, it’s never random. Removal is
often the language God uses to protect alignment. When something begins to compete
with His voice, drain what He’s developing, or pull you out of peace, He lovingly steps
in.
Not everything that leaves was meant to follow you forward. Some things were
assigned to a previous season and can’t go where God is taking you next. This isn’t
rejection it’s redirection!
Instead of asking, “Why did this leave?” Ask, “What are you preparing me for?”
~~~When God Removes People, Habits, And Distractions, Here’s Why~~~

#1…GOD REMOVES WHAT COMPETES WITH HIS VOICE!

Sometimes removal happens because too many voices create confusion. God

Weakness  or  Refusal

Ricky / February 6, 2026

This is a message many believers avoid. But it’s one God uses to rescue hearts.

There’s a difference between struggling and resisting.

A difference between weakness and refusal.

A difference between falling and choosing darkness while knowing the truth!

So, here’s the question: ” What is God doing when you knowingly keep sinning?”

Three truths that 99% of believers never truly understand.

Let’s look at a verse many Christians avoid.

Hebrews 10:26 says: ” For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge

of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins.”

Have you ever stopped to ask why Scripture warns us with such weight and

urgency?

Let’s reveal three crucial

When It Feels God Is Silent

Ricky / February 2, 2026

Have you ever felt like your prayers are hitting the ceiling? Like God is silent when

you need Him the most? You’re NOT ALONE! Know this: THIS IS NOT ABANDONMENT.

This is PREPARATION!

There are some important lessons to remember when  you’re navigating those

silent seasons we all go through.

~~~SILENCE  DOESN’T  MEAN  ABSENCE!
Just because you can’t hear Him doesn’t mean He’s not there. Sometimes, God is
working in ways we can’t see or understand at the moment.
Key Verse: (Lamentations 3:25)- “The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul
who seeks Him.”
~~~SOMETIMES, GOD SPEAKS THROUGH STILLNESS!

God doesn’t always answer with loud signs — sometimes He speaks in the quiet.

Open    Doors

Ricky / January 31, 2026

Hear this with grace and clarity. Access DOES NOT mean assignment. Many of us are

tired, stretched, and spiritually drained because we said YES to doors God NEVER

told us to walk through!

Scripture reminds us that God orders our steps, not our opportunities. If a door pulls

you away from prayer, disrupts your peace, or pressures you into rushing, it’s worth

pausing and seeking God again. His will never competes with His Word.

~~~Not Every Open Door Is God’s Will!
Some doors open to distract you. (Rev. 3:7) ” What He opens no one can shut, and
what He shuts no one can open.”  GOD CONTROLS DOORS, NOT PEOPLE!
~~~An Open Door Does Not Automatically Mean Divine Direction!

God allows doors to open to test discernment, not

Renewing And Defeating The Attacks On Your Mind

Ricky / January 26, 2026

You’ve heard it said before. ” The mind is the battlefield.”  Here’s the truth.  IT IS!

Really!  The mind is where you wage war against thoughts, ideas, and suggestions

that do not line up with God’s Word. To walk in victory and experience everything

God has already provided through the finished work of Christ; you’re gonna have

 to learn to renew your mind with God’s Word.

So here are 5 powerful truths to renew/defeat the attacks on your mind:

#1~~SATURATE YOUR MIND IN THE WORD DAILY!

     “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the

       renewing of your mind.” (Romans12:2)

      ~Why It Matters: The Word of God is your weapon against lies. When the

Truth   Tellers

Ricky / January 23, 2026

There’s a kind of loneliness that doesn’t come from being unlovable.  It comes

from BEING HONEST!

When you stop editing yourself to keep the peace, some people won’t know

how to stay. That can feel confusing, especially if you were taught that truth

should always be rewarded and obedience should always feel affirming.

Scripture tells a different story.

Sometimes obedience separates before it strengthens. Sometimes telling the

truth costs closeness. And sometimes what feels like rejection is actually protection.

If you are missing connections that shifted AFTER YOU STOPPED pretending,

you’re NOT WEAK. You’re waking up!

When honesty costs belonging, obedience still costs less than silence.

Discerning When The Battle Is Spiritual

Ricky / January 19, 2026

Not every conflict is a conversation problem.  Not every tension is emotional.  Not every

pressure point is relational.

Some battles are spiritual,  and pretending that they’re just feelings keeps you stuck.

Here’s how you can know the difference.

~~~~If talking it through HASN’T shifted anything.  You’re NOT dealing with a
misunderstanding,  you’re dealing with resistance.
~~~~The pressure is persistent.

~~~~The cycle keeps repeating.
~~~~The goal is obviously division, confusion, exhaustion, or isolation.

~~~~The atmosphere feels heavier than the situation deserves.
If the same issue keeps resurfacing, no matter how much you explain, process, or
apologize, that’s NOT emotional conflict,  THAT’S A
The Blessing Is In The Stretch
Ricky / January 15, 2026
When God strengthens us, it’s always by stretching us.  He doesn’t stretch
us by keeping us comfortable, but by placing us in situations that require
faith.
Not to destroy us, but to grow us.
Because some things can only be developed under pressure.
Character is formed in the stretch.
Faith is refined in the stretch.
Obedience is proven in the stretch.
What feels uncomfortable is preparation, and preparation leads to
elevation.
Taking   God’s   Name   In    Vain
Ricky / January 13, 2026
You might be breaking a commandment right now.
Not murder.
Not adultery.
One of the top 10.
And you have NO IDEA you’re doing it!
Exodus 20:7:  “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain .”
You think this is about cursing (or cussing).
Maybe something like, “Oh my God,” carelessly. But the Hebrew reveals something
you’d never expect.
This ISN’T about words at all!  Taking God’s name in vain isn’t technically about
your mouth.
So in Hebrew, “Nasa”= to carry, to bear.
                                 “Shav”= empty, worthless, for nothing.
The commandment literally says:
” Don’t carry My name for NOTHING!”
Don’t wear the label ” Christian ” while
Fear of man   or    Fear of the Lord
Ricky / January 8, 2026
Proverbs  9:10-12
“Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom.  Knowledge of the Holy One results in
good judgment. Wisdom will multiply your days and add years to your life. If you
become wise, you will be the one to benefit. If you scorn wisdom, you will be the one
to suffer.”
~~It is impossible to simultaneously fear God and fear man while walking in obedience
towards what He has called you to do…..
~~Your fear of disappointing others with Biblical boundaries, Holy Spirit conviction, and
A life of consecration can never be greater than your fear of disobeying God because
You’re afraid of being misunderstood, misquoted, or misinterpreted.
Eventually, you will have to decide if your allegiance is to a
Eternal   Redemption!
Ricky / January 6, 2026
According to Hebrews  9:7, the high priest would go into the Tabernacle ONCE A YEAR
with the blood of a bull or goat, and offer it for the people’s sins. The blood of that
animal covered their sins FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR!  Now, the way some people believe,
and preach, our sins are only covered until the next thought, word, or deed of sin.
Let me say this as boldly as I can.  THAT’S   RELIGION!!!
Think about it. If that’s what religion says, the blood of an animal is more powerful
than the blood of Jesus. Thankfully,  IT ISN’T TRUE!!!
And thankfully, we’re not just under grace,  but we have  GRACE~OVER~THE~TOP!
“Grace  upon  grace.”  (John  1:16)
According to New Testament scripture, our sins aren’t covered for a
Grace   Upon   Grace
Ricky / January 4, 2026
Let’s talk about something that I believe is one of the greatest subjects in the Bible.
GRACE!!!
After everything Jesus did,  we don’t just have grace,  we have  “Grace UPON grace!”
So I want to give you some amazing truths that I like to call Empowerment Truths.
  • EMPOWERMENT  TRUTH   #1
    God’s grace NEVER looks at  ‘Behavior’;  IT LOOKS FOR BLOOD!
    This revelation annoys religion.
    Think about the night the death angel went to Egypt. The ONLY instruction he
    was given was, “When you see the blood, judgment denied…Pass over the house”
    (Exodus 12).
    Notice how God didn’t say:
    ~Go inside and see if they are living right.
    ~Go inside and check their behavior.
    ~Go inside and see if they’re smoking weed,
Peace   Or   Chaos?
Ricky / December 31, 2025
So, here’s a powerful statement. You don’t need another prayer for peace. YOU NEED to
stop tolerating what disrupts it!
God is not confused about why your peace keeps breaking.  He’s already shown you what
doesn’t belong.  Peace is a fruit of alignment,  NOT avoidance.
When chaos is entertained,  through relationships,  through patterns,  habits,  or
environments,  peace will always feel fragile. Not because God failed, but because peace requires guarding.
~~You keep asking God for peace while entertaining chaos. You’re praying for calm
but permitting what keeps disrupting it.
Peace isn’t something God withholds.  It’s something He entrusts to you.  And what you tolerate determines whether peace can remain.
